Mom Gives Botox Injections to 8 Year Old Daughter

Botox Shots on 8 Year Old Daughter, Britney

Britney after a Botox Injection

Have you heard about the San Francisco mother who admitted on Good Morning America that she regularly injects Botox into her 8-year-old daughter’s face? The purpose – she wants to enter her daughter into child beauty pageants.

Kerry Campbell, the mother, told Good Morning America:

“We were getting into the [child] pageants… I knew she [Britney, her 8-year-old daughter] was complaining about her face, having wrinkles, and things like that.”

Um, I’m sorry but 8 year-old girls DO NOT have wrinkles. If you watch the interview (below), you’ll see that Britney has dimples. Her face is young and beautiful.

Kerry, who is a part-time aesthetician and has performed Botox to her own face, decided to inject Botox into her daughter’s face. The San Francisco-based mother typically gives Britney five shots of the anti-wrinkle solution, in three locations of the young girl’s face.

“It hurts sometimes. It makes me nervous, but I get used to it,” the 8 year-old told Good Morning America.

In her interview, Kerry refused to disclose where she got the Botox, saying that she has a “trusted source” who is a “behind the scenes doctor.”

This story has drawn tons of critics, but this beauty pageant determined mother says that she’s not the only one doing this. She claims that many other beauty pageant mothers are giving their children Botox too.

“I don’t do enough on her to make a difference. Just on the lines,” Kerry said. “I’m a great mother. I’ve taken care of her by myself my whole life, and nobody can really tell me what I’m doing is wrong … She’s a happy kid and that’s the bottom line.”

San Francisco Child Protective Services are Investigating

Kerry Campbell might not think she’s doing anything wrong, but San Francisco authorities are investigating the situation. The Food and Drug Administration doesn’t recommend Botox injections for anyone under age 18.

(Botox is made from a toxin made by the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum. It’s the same toxin that causes the food poisoning, botulism. Botox injections temporary remove facial wrinkles by weakening or paralyzing certain muscles or by blocking certain nerves.)

Child protective services at the San Francisco Human Services Agency was flooded with calls after the Good Morning America report. The police have now also joined their investigation.

What Do You Think?

So what do you think? Are you as upset as I am about this entire story?

I don’t know about you, but as I’ve mentioned above, little 8 year-old girls do not have wrinkles. They DO NOT need to get Botox injections. My heart breaks for Britney. If she thinks she has wrinkles now, she’s going to have horrible body image issues as she gets older. Not to mention, what is her self-esteem going to be like? Her mother should think about the psychological and emotional issues that Britney will face.

She’s an adorable little girl, and she should just be allowed to be a child.

That’s retarded. The mom is stupid for doing that. The little girl doesn’t even need it done and she’s going to have horrible body image when she’s older. The little girl didn’t even know why she got the injections until she was basically told to say because of wrinkles. Poor little girl.

I am so worried about the impact that this mother will have on the healthy mental and physical development of this little girl. I was so elated to learn that they had taken this child away from her, as she is clearly out of her freaking mind!

Unbelievable! This has got to be the worst case of vanity I’ve heard in my life. I can’t even imagine what kind of mindset that little girl will grow up to have. That mom might be providing all the needs of her child, but she is definitely not winning any awards in character building!

“A lot of the moms do it…” So I guess if the moms throw their kids off the cliff, she will too. Ugh!

    This is just sick!

“We were getting into the [child] pageants… I knew she was complaining about her face, having wrinkles, and things like that.”
If she was complaining about having wrinkles it’s likely because she heard her mother saying it about herself. Hasn’t this woman ever realized that kids imitate? What it wrong with her!?

“I don’t do enough on her to make a difference. Just on the lines,” Kerry said.”
First an 8 year old doesn’t have lines! If she does it’s from the freaking botox!

I swear people like this make me so angry! She shouldn’t be allowed to have a child!
