I must apologize to all my readers for the long downtime on this blog yesterday and early this morning. I am having a heck of a time figuring out all the errors and funky bits that have occurred since I’ve migrated from Blogger (blogspot) to WordPress (self-hosted). My hosting company has NO clue what they are doing, so I am switching this weekend to GoDaddy, who is more recognized and has better support. Plus, almost all the instructions I find online have explanations on how to things on GoDaddy.
I am currently using iPage for my hosting. I choose them because they were cheaper . . . but they have been quite a disappoint from the very first day. I should have immediately switched, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. iPage has slowed down the loading of my page; they’ve had serious errors and I could not access the page; my blog went down and stayed down.
Some other problems that I am having . . . Google Reader isn’t updating. When a new follower uses GFC, my blog does not immediately appear on their Google Reader for some reason. I’ve lost almost all of my subscribers and my traffic has dramatically declined. Since returning readers and Google Reader and Google Friend Connect are my main source of traffic right now, I am quite concerned.
I hope to resolve all these issues soon. Until then, I hope you enjoy my previous posts. I will try to work out everything by next week, or at least get the blog up and running again.
I apologize for the craziness! If anyone has any advice, please let me know!
